DIY Coat Rack Stand

You will have to visit a local home improvement shop to get the things that you need. Choose a number of wooden dowels in various sizes, tools such as saw, drill, some glue for sticking the wooden pieces and simply assemble the pieces together.
You can also make a metal coat rack stand, simply use metal. If you are experienced welder or know someone who can fashion the simple coat stand out of metal then, just go ahead and do it.
To make the coat rack stand for the wall, you would need the following items
- 1X4 inch block of wood strip
- 4 or more number of coat hooks of your choice
- A drill
- Some screws
- Manpower
First and foremost measure the length of the wooden strip that you have. So if you have a wooden strip that is about 12 inches long, then you need to mark the spaces evenly for the coat hooks to be affixed. If you have 4 hooks, you need to mark the hooks at a distance of 3 inches, if you have 3 hooks, then you would need to space it out every 4 inches. This is known as prepping the wooden piece.
For mounting the coat rack stand, you will need to drill studs in the wall and drill the holes at the back of the stand also. The holes on the back should line up perfectly with the studs; otherwise the rack will not fit on the wall. If you have drilled through the front of the wooden piece, ensure that you cover the mounting holes with the coat hooks to cover the mounting holes.
Screw the hooks on the wooden strip on the marks that you had made earlier. Finally drill the screws in the studs. Hang up the coat rack stand and you have the beautiful thing up on your wall. You can also use Hercules hooks if you don’t want to want to drill the DIY coat rack stand on the wall. Depending on the size of the coat rack stand and how heavy the coats may be, you may even need two Hercules hooks instead of one.
